Contribution to the draft 2nd additional protocol to the Budapest Convention on Cybercrime
The Cybercrime Convention Committee (T-CY) continues its work on drafting the second additional protocol to the Budapest Convention on Cybercrime A new version of the draft was published last November 10, and the 5th round of open consultation was opened for interested parties to submit their comments. The central theme of the protocol is cross-border access to data and the different forms that international cooperation between governments and the private sector can take. In this update, provisions were added on topics not included in earlier versions, related to joint teams and investigations, expedited disclosure of data in emergency cases, and the request for information on domain name registrations. From the Asociación por los Derechos Civiles (ADC) we send our contribution in order to provide a Latin American perspective based on the defense of human rights and data protection.
