ADC submits contributions to National Government on cybersecurity policies
In response to the public consultation on the Second National Cybersecurity Strategy, the Association for Civil Rights (ADC) presented recommendations, summarizing guidelines and principles forged from our vast experience in the field. We believe digital security policies must be centered on the individual and developed under human rights standards recognized in regional conventions and international laws. They should also aim to formulate and implement a sound data protection scheme.
We uphold the proactive role of the National Government in dealing with digital security, facing cybercrime, and protecting its infrastructure. In line with these principles, our main observations concern:
- The definition of cybersecurity
- Transparency of the strategies to be adopted
- IT audits
- Digital security and personal data
- Encryption
- Impact assessments
- The gender perspective
The Asociación por los Derechos Civiles has been active in the pursuit of adopting a human rights perspective in digital security policies in Argentina and the region since 2016. We also promoted and participated in the First National Cybersecurity Strategy passed in 2019.
