    PubliElectoral – 2022 Brazilian Elections

This study analyzes election ad spending made by the two main candidates, Jair Messias Bolsonaro and Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, in the 2022 Brazilian presidential campaign, The collection of data was carried out in Facebook by PubliElectoral, a software tool that identifies and tracks pages expressing support for the mentioned contestants.

The accounts scrutinized belonged to one state for each of the 5 regions that make up the country: Pará (North), Bahia (Northeast), Goiás (Center-West), Rio Grande do Sul (South) and São Paulo (Southeast).

Sites belonging to the state of Rio de Janeiro were also included, due to its centrality in the Southeast region, as well as those identified as of nationwide reach. A total of 375 pages were traced, including candidates, parties and satellite accounts.
