A call on Facebook, Google and Twitter to increase transparency of online political advertising

The abuse of online advertising by political forces may threaten the construction of democratic societies. Facebook, Google and Twitter have made some progress towards enhancing the transparency of platforms, but it is not enough. Therefore, early last month, ADC, Mozilla and other civil society organizations sent the three companies a letter providing them with recommendations on how to improve their API (application programming interface) in order to facilitate the investigation of online political advertising.
