ADC again sponsoring FemIT Conf

The Association for Civil Rights (ADC) once again is adding its support as a sponsor to the FemIT Conf, a conference on technology with a gender perspective organized by LasDeSistemas collective. The event, to be held in its fifth edition on November 12 at a venue to be confirmed, will comprise talks given by women, lesbians, transvestites, transgender, and non-binary people with experience ranging from those presenting their first paper to outstanding personalities in their fields of study. 

ADC reinforces its commitment to featuring new dimensions in what is currently understood as access to technology. In this sense, we consider that the low percentage of women working in the IT industry, their high dropout rate in IT studies, and a general underrepresentation of women and dissident voices on the Internet due to discrimination and violence, are aspects to be considered in future debates on access and ICT.

FemIT Conf seeks to share knowledge and give visibility to the work of these historically marginalized groups to empower and inspire those people participating.
