Ensuring the Independence of the Judiciary: The Role of the Magistracy Council
As a follow-up of the findings made by our study on the Magistracy Council published in October last year, ADC now releases a special dossier of six articles by experts in areas related to this constitutional body created in 1994. The series of documents, titled Ensuring the Independence of the Judiciary: The Role of the Magistracy Council, addresses, among other topics, the gender perspective in the Justice System, access to public information, the selection processes held by the Council, transparency and the use of ICTs.
This new publication features articles by Gustavo Arballo (legal practitioner, University of La Plata), Florencia Burdeos (legal practitioner, University of La Plata), Andrea Castagnola (Ph.D. in Political Science, University of Pittsburgh), Ornela Mazza Gigena (legal practitioner, University of the South), Juan Nardi (sociologist, University of Buenos Aires) and Tomás Pomar (legal practitioner, University of Buenos Aires).
These reports are an essential contribution to enrich the discussions and offer different perspectives on such a controversial issue as the Magistracy Council and transparency in the administration of Justice.
